Cat inherited breed information
and general health information
There is not as much information available about purebred cats but it is becoming more so. There are now 250 known inherited breed problems in cats and we will try locate that information and provide it here.
I think its important to also know what health problems are common in cats in general and may be generally of worry. Also it is very important when thinking about cats to look at infectious feline disease and how its transmitted because the advances in micro technology and DNA study have vastly improved what we know about those diseases and how they are transmitted. People tend to add cats or a kitten without thinking about isolating it for the safety of their other cats because it looks healthy. Any new feline addition to a household with cats needs to be kept away from the other cats for at least a week or two. We will talk more about the why and wherefores of adopting cats, cats from catteries and breeders, Shelter medicine and infectious disease.
It is going to take me time to build this website. It is an ambitious plan and I have laid it out for you to see. That may not have been to smart but I thought it was important . Breeders of purebred cats are more then welcome to send me breed problems, standards and general information about a breed ..even a good picture that represents the breed and the cats name and I will use it if its suitable. Just the cat though please.
